6N/7D Purulia, Ghatshila & Jhargram Tour

Arrive at Purulia railway station and meet our tour representative on the platform. Transfer to the Ajodhya plateau, climbing the ghat road through Bagmundi with the hills opening out on the ascent. After checking in at your resort, visit the Upper Dam and the Bamni Falls viewpoint, subject to water flow and access. End the day at the Mayur Pahar viewpoint for sunset over the plateau. Overnight stay in Ajodhya Hills.

After breakfast, visit the Lower Dam and Turga Falls, subject to water flow, followed by the Marble Lake in its old quarry basin and Khairabera Lake with the hill paths around it. In the afternoon, visit the Charida mask-makers’ village, where Chhau masks are made by hand, and the Deulghata temple ruins if time allows. Return to the plateau for the evening. After breakfast, check out and drive to Ghatshila, a quiet river town on the Subarnarekha long associated with Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. Check in at your hotel or riverside resort. In the afternoon, visit the writer’s house at Dahigora, followed by Ratmohana and Phuldungri Hill. End the day at the riverside ghats, watching the sunset over the water. Overnight stay in Ghatshila.

After breakfast, drive to Dharagiri Falls and walk down to the pool at its base, subject to water flow and access. Continue to Galudih Barrage on the Subarnarekha and the Narwa Forest stretch nearby. In the afternoon, visit Burudih Lake against the low hills, followed by Rankini Temple at Jadugora and Panchpandav rock formation on the riverbank. Return to Ghatshila for the evening market. Overnight stay in Ghatshila.

Start with an early morning walk along the Subarnarekha, the quietest hour on the river. Return for breakfast and check out, then drive to Jhargram through the sal forest belt. Check in at your resort or the Jhargram Rajbari. In the afternoon, visit the Jhargram Rajbari grounds and the Jhargram Zoological Park. End the day with a walk in the sal forest near your resort. Overnight stay in Jhargram.

After breakfast, visit the Kanak Durga Temple at Chilkigarh, set in its sacred grove beside the Dulung river, followed by the Chilkigarh Rajbari ruins. In the afternoon, drive to Belpahari for Ghagra Falls, Khandarani Lake and the Kakrajhor forest stretch, subject to water flow and road condition. Return to Jhargram for the evening. Overnight stay in Jhargram.

Start with an early morning walk in the sal forest. Return for breakfast and check out. Visit the Jhargram handicrafts market or the Sabitri Temple if your train time allows, before your drop at Jhargram railway station for departure.
